Misericordia Community Hospital is a full-service hospital located in Edmonton, Alberta. With over 200 beds and 16 operating rooms, the facility provides comprehensive care services, including labor and delivery, emergency medicine, general internal medicine and surgery. The facility has been rated among the top hospitals in the province by Health Canada, with a commitment to providing excellent patient care and safety.
Arpi’s North Work with Misericordia Community Hospital
Arpi’s North is proud to have played a major role in the redevelopment of Misericordia’s Emergency Department. Built as a performance-based specification, Misericordia has engaged us with mechanical equipment selections to offer the end user a comfortable and healthy building environment for patient visits. The scope of the construction was a 59,000 square foot emergency department featuring a main floor, full interstitial space, and mechanical penthouse. Also included is the construction of a new generator building and substation building, complete with installation, commissioning, and testing of generator equipment, to support the healthcare campus. The project featured new primary and secondary emergency center levels of care to address a capacity of 60,000 patient visits per year, a significant improvement from the existing 25,000 annual patient visit capacity.
A performance-based specification, the Misericordia Community Hospital Emergency Department Redevelopment (MCH EDR) has engaged us to offer the end user a comfortable and healthy building environment for patient visits. The mechanical systems are fed from a penthouse mechanical room and distributed throughout an interstitial space allowing for easy maintenance, renovations, and repairs.
