Arpi’s North is proud to provide expert HVAC and mechanical services for general contractors who take on complex or large-volume projects across Northern Alberta. We are transparent and agile partners in the tender and delivery process and proactive, communicative managers who foresee obstacles and resolve on-site challenges promptly. One of the projects we are most proud of being a part of is the Stanton Legacy Long-Term Care Facility in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
Stanton Legacy in Yellowknife, NWT
The Stanton Legacy Long Term Care facility is the transformation of the repurposed Stanton Hospital n Yellowknife, NWT. The new facility includes 90 long-term and extended care suites. Completed in 2022, the new facility was created through a complete internal removal and replacement of the existing systems. Due to the facility’s designation as a Long-Term Care facility, the mechanical systems are incredibly robust in their application and all installations must comply with the CAN/CSA Z317 Standards. The project’s location in Yellowknife also added some unique attributes, like a Bio-Mass Heating Plant paired with a Propane redundancy fuel system.
Arpi’s North Approach to Stanton Legacy
Arpi’s North is proud to have played a major role in the completion of the Stanton Legacy facility in Yellowknife, including:
- Final GMP at only 40% drawings
- Complete internal removal & replacement of existing systems
- Long-term Care Facility
- Prefabricated from modelled spools
- Spool Maps
- Bio-Mass Heating Plant
- Propane redundancy fuel system
- Increased oversight
- Local Skilled Labor
When building out 90 suites, the utilization of prefabrication from the modeled spools allows for efficiencies through repetition in the fabrication, shipping, and installation process. As many of the systems are built, created, or shipped in accordance with the created spool map, the site team were able to place the main lines on the appropriate floors in the appropriate order, as well as distribute the branch lines spools and suite systems into the tagged suites.
